Tonight's dinner choice was AMAZING! & it's all thanks to Emma & Elsie @ ABeautifulmess.com <333 thanks for a wonderful recipe ladies! I already love love loved bagel sammies, but now I love them even MORE! I wanted to share this recipe with all of you today because it was so fun to make & the bagels were delish! :]
ingredients used to make these bagels :
3 cups bread flour
1/2 cup + 1 tablespoon water
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 egg + 2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon salt
sesame seeds for the tops
Pour the sugar and water into a bowl & stir together. Now, sprinkle the yeast on top give it a whirl and let it hug itself to the water for 7 minutes.
Time to get your savy mixer out and grab a large bowl! Mix together bread flour, olive oil and salt. Blend it on low, adding in the eggs & yeast (about 6 minutes). Gather the dough up and place it in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel & place it on top of the refrigerator!
Allow dough to rise for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Punch the dough a few times (literally) then shape the dough into 8 balls. Bring some water to a boil in a small pan. Using your finger, stick a hole right through the middles of the dough while you're waiting for your water to boil. Slip donut looking balls into the boiling water for 40 seconds,
transfer dough onto greased cookie sheet. Once all of the dough has been boiled and is transferred to the cookie sheet mix together 1 egg and brush the egg onto the bagels.
Now, you need to sprinkle the sesame seeds onto the tips and sides of the dough. In order to get seeds on sides of dough take some in your hand and toss at the sides of the bagels! :)

In we go! Put bagels in a 425 degree oven for 19 minutes.
Emma and Elsie use their bagels to make sammies! (sandwiches) So that's what I did at first with mine too!
But, I thought that since they have a little hint of sweetness to them, that they would be super amazing with blackberry jam & cookie butter!
Spread a heaving glob of cookie butter on one side and on the other side, rub a little swab of butter & then put some of your favorite jam on top, join sides together & chow down!
